!7" Boxter rims
#1

I found a set of 17" Boxter rims locally. They are 17x7 and 17x8.5 mesh style. Will they fit on my 968. The offset I believe are 55 and 52. Does $450 sound like a good deal. Thanks!!!!!

$450 sounds like a deal. I would check the front wheels to see if they go over the bearing hub of the 968 without a spacer.

Boxster wheels, esp the 'S' models, are a great fit on a 968. They preserve the 1.5" wheel width differential front-to-rear that Porsche specified for 17s (OEM was 7.5 front/9.0 rear).

I think this gives you a better balance than using 911 wheels, which are typically 7/9 widths. I run these wheels on my 968.

As Ryan says, almost all the newer wheels require spacers in front to clear the hub. No one makes a 3 MM spacer that know of, but that's all you really need. From what I've read you can safely go up to 1/4" (about 6 MM) with the standard studs. The spacer dimension adds to your offset, so with a 6 MM spacer installed, your effective front offset becomes 55+6=61, a bit more than the stock, but not enough to cause any interference between the wheel and the body.

WOW..... Fantastic info Tom! I guess it's a done deal. I'm calling the guy tomorrow. Oh, originally he was asking $750, I really wasn't sure what they were worth. Thanks! I just happen to have some spacers from my 911 I'll probably try.

55-6=49

Lower the number, the closer to the fender.

I run Boxster Sport Classics on my 968. No spacer. I had to file the tabs on the front center caps just slightly but that was no big deal as they are plastic.

They look great and I get many comments. Pain to keep clean.

Great price BTW.
