Just add some tape over the contacts on the old cap, if it scrapes the tape up then you still have an issue.

The parts look the same! Stumped me too!
I'll do the plug remove/crank thing to check for clearance.
New rotor/cap on the way.
I'll post what I find.

I discovered that the black plastic shroud over the cap is removable...you don't need to loose the yellow firing and location sticker when you replace the cap.

Good idea with the tape. This is getting expensive and a real puzzler.
