recommended settings for koni's
#1

So I ordered a set of koni's for the new car, and will be installing them before too long. Planning on keeping the springs stock for the time being. What is the recommend setting for the rear shocks for a street car with stock everything else back there?

rear shocks - one turn from full soft for a bit of a sportier setup, and one half turn from full soft for more of a cruiser

front struts - about 1 turn from full soft

Comfort is a subjective and tricky thing. Ask a 24 year old about a rock hard set up and he'll tell you that it feels great. I believe his exact words were "it is nice and stiff". I drove his car, I'm 36, and found it to be dreadful. As I hit even small bumps at moderate speed, the jolt would send my head right into the the roof. I can only imagine the back and butt pain i would have after a long drive.

My 68 is still stock and my set up is too soft for my taste. I do wish there was some way of testing before buying.

Oh so true. Now going waaaaay OT. I played ball yesterday against some younger ones, 3 on 3, and mopped the floor w/ them. Won 5 out of 6 games. 2 of them had us in height, however we beat them because we worked as a team and experience taught us how to handle their size.

Back on topic. I doubt that I would've felt that set up just right even 12 years ago. I try to seek mature advise as experience often brings rationale. So as w/ Flash and Ryans comments, granted I don't know their ages, their answers provide modest adjustments and Ryan gives a nice gauge by comparing it to stock.

We will have to meet someday after work, (I work in elkridge). I have a mild street set up on stiff settings.

Back on topic, I set my front and rear Koni Sport Yellows at dead center. Hey, I'm a middle of the road kind of guy. Anyway, I really like the set-up on the road & the track.
