This is what you need:

I know of at least one other vendor in Germany going by the handle "partworks_de" that had these at one point (see image) but I'm not sure they have them at the moment.
If the link above proves fruitless, try Annapolis Porsche; this is the Porsche dealer I use to buy all of my parts. Sunset doesn't doesn't always have the cheapest price; in fact, they never beat Annapolis' prices for the parts I've purchased. Shop the part number around, but more importantly, call these guys and see if this part is in one of their US warehouses (hopefully it's still available). Talk to Courtney, tell him I (Pablo) sent you.

If you have to bite your wallet, remember that the original has lasted this long and a replacement from Porsche will go the same distance. If you plan on keeping your 968, the small investment will pay dividends.
Let me know how you make out!

Hi All
I have a spare linkage which I exchange with UK owners and use WPO rebuild kits to repair the old ones,
WPO "Richard" is a really helpful chap I buy lots of parts off him
the kits are all you need but getting the arm off the selector shaft can be good fun, make sure you take the bolt right out, and you might need a puller to get it off
