Rear linkage removal
#1

I'm about to modify the rear linkage on the 968 gearbox for my race car.

I have slop both in the shift block and in the transverse linkage.

Has anyone managed to remove the transverse linkage without breaking the ball on the main linkage?

Take a look at the pictures, in the main picture I want to remove nr 2 from nr 1 and from the gearbox to replace that linkage.

I'm hoping this is possible so I don't have to make a completely new custom setup.

Anyone done this?

Yes , I have done this in a parking lot.. 1st you have to remove the hook pin from the ball on the right side(stationary pin). Then take a screwdriver and pop off that ball cup only. Then go to the drivers side tranny and remove the shift shaft lock bolt(13mm I think) and slide shift er shaft from linkage. Finally remove the 10mm set bolt holding the swival on the tranny shaft. Then slide the entire assembly from the drivers side tranny.
