I finally got my hatch reglued to the frame after listening to weird squeaks for a year and a half. Now the hatch closes with a much different and more reassuring thunk and the squeaks are gone!

dep,

What was the condition of your hatch before re-gluing? Did you remove the glass from the frame completely? I think the hatch is going to be my winter project.

Just as a reference I was about to post two pictures of my hatch, but it seems that I do not have the permission or I do not know how to upload them . If someone can post them or just wants to see them, let me know.

Thanks for the tips guys. Will let you know if I solve it.

Anyone had much success with Dynamat or paint-on stuff (like this: http://www.quietcar.net/), to solve rattles or just generally improve the interior noise levels?

i just did a complete dynamat extreme on ds968's car yesterday - i'm going to let him tell you about it

in an entirely separate process, we also got rid of 2/3 of his rear rattles

I'll post more tomorrow, must attend to a few other things at the moment but I have to say this: Bob replaced my sound system with the L.A. Philharmonic orchestra ! The combo of the dynamat, the foam and filler he put in there completely transformed this into a night and day difference . Amazing !

Yeah, a couple of rattles were eliminated, but the rumbling rocks noise is still there.. could be the rear shock bushings, he's sending me a new pair, so keeping fingers crossed that might be it and I'll finally get rid of that annoyance.

Gotta go, but.. good seeeing everyone at the autofest today. Too bad the event itself is.. well, I for one am completely underwhelmed with it.. not going there agian anytime soon..
