Jeez, I have no idea why I did not look at this thread until just now... AWESOME ! I'm not easily one to envy much of anything, but that garage is something which deserves a shrine.

Wow high praise thank you. What type of shrine were you thinking about? Read the epoxy thread and weigh in. More pics to come. I've talked about sacrificing redheads or blondes to the garage gods to appease them. Is that what you mean? Lol

Absolutely, definitely send a few redheads my way, I'll be more than hapy to appease them in the process of appeasing the gods. All in the interest of your garage, of course..:-)

I love my 968 for what it is & don't hate it for what it isn't!

Thanks. Being the rocket scientist that I am and the fact that it's supposed to snow, I decided to put the 968 in the new garage and let Liz use the house garage. I mean like really, isn't that what I built it for or was it to obsess over my floor being not quite right! Taking a huge humidor over to the upstairs with all the works for convenience sake of course.

Thanks again. So by way of explanation, after looking at web sites, magazines, walking into people's bedrooms and closets to take a look see and looking at one of my own closets, I came up with this configuration. Simple, practical and efficient. Upstairs was initially conceived as a huge storage area before modifications were developed. There are two other big closets, not as big or long, which sit at the front of the garage in between the two dormers. The back part of the closets match the pitch of the roof so it makes for a difficult space. I haven't figured out what to do yet although in a pinch it's easily done. Notice the pic of the motor which runs the one double bay is on the side of the door. This is to allow the door to rise up and hug the ceiling and was designed in conjunction with 12 ft ceilings for a lift. The pic of the sink is at the base of the steps going upstairs out of the way of the steps but more importantly out of the garage. This left more area in the garage and is literally two steps out of the garage and out of the way. I got this idea when I was visiting Flash and looking at his configurations. For those new to the Forum, the members here were quite generous in their advice, opinions and experience when I asked questions during the concetualization phase. The dormers upstairs. While they allow one to increase space boy are they stupid. I converted one to a half bathroom. I dithered about with the other one and did nothing. Looking back, I might have put a shower there. The space otherwise is somewhat useless. At least for now.

Steps out side the garage space, tidy garage door lift, 12' ceiling, ceiling fans & heaters. The attention to detail is what makes this an Amazing build. It's really coming along nice. To complete this masterpiece, I'm sure during the finishing touches, you will reveal the 968 posters

I did notice that the sink had a regular faucet, not one with a pull out sprayer. That feature could come in handy.

That's a good idea. The flags, signs and posters have been purchased with more to come. Need to see where what I already have goes. Floor complications are stopping me from hanging because of dust and stuff.

The newest grandchild is visiting for the first time. God do they ever stop crying? I can't stand it. I'm going to the garage to escape this. See there was a method to this madness! Course now I have to trudge thru all this snow. Small price to pay

Thanks again Rhude. I very well may have outsmarted myself. Sometimes I think that must be pretty easy. The floor you see is filthy and shows every spec of dirt which the dirt road I live on coughs up. This salient issue seems to have eluded me in my floor color selection. I have mentioned before that I researched the heck out of this floor. Wonder what would have happened if i was a little more loosey gooesey with it? Unfortunately not in my nature! Lol The good news is that there are two drains built into the floor so cleaning it should be easy yet time consuming. I am waiting to hear what the next floor expert tells me on what the necessary correction to fix the floor will be but it almost certainly would seem to entail a redo. Springtime seems to be a thought. Patience is a virtue! The cabinets for the back wall you see in the pic should be in and installed this week. The tv also goes up on the middle of that wall hopefully today. Stereo and tv upstairs also should go in today. Vacuum and hose will go up on the right side of the garage on the wall. Both are in. I'm chomping at the bit to finish this project so I can enjoy the garage part. The upstairs is way cool and we are hanging out more and more. Has a bit of a cigar smell to it but it is a garage after all. Lol

Truly a beautiful space. The pic with the 968 gives a good perspective of the height and depth of the garage. Cant wait to see the lift.

BTW- that 68 looks good . I like the white wheels. Were you going to tint the windows? White cars with dark tint are a perfect match.

Interesting, a young lady who works for me and has a Benz has always tinted her windows, loves it and tried to convince me to do it. Gues I'd like to see what a 68 looks like with that! Thanks for the compliment. Jeff says the white wheels kinda rare. Look cool though.

RAP My 968 was a originally sold new in Arizona with heavily tinted hatch glass and side quarter windows. the door windows were also tinted, but not as dark as the rear. No tint other than factory on the windshield. I didn't care for it. Way to dark for night time driving to the point of being dangerous in my opinion. Same effect as wearing sunglasses at night while driving a car with a "normal tint". As a result I removed all of the tint and just went with the factory standard tint.

Having never driven in a tinted car I always wondered about that. Perhaps in a southern state but... Thanks for the observation.
