GARAGE MAHAL - REV 3
#1

after being here for a couple of years now, i've had the chance to work in the garage and figure out where things really want to be - i've also had the chance to make some changes and improvements

i got rid of the tank type water heater (behind the pegboard) and replaced it with a tankless water heater (love it) - this created room in that closet area for the compressor, drill press, band saw, table say, and chop saw - they are all very easy to pull out, and the compressor is much quieter

i also reworked the cabinet layout, and now have a much easier area to work in

picked up a new refrigerator to match the cabinets and such

added wall mounted fans to keep the air moving on hot days

the concrete required repair when we had the floor done, and the material used failed - this caused the floor to "breathe" which created bubbles - a couple of repairs to the floor and it started to look like a teenager's complexion - i decided to have the floor reworked - rather than doing the entire thing all over again, which would have required removing everything from the garage for 3 days, i chose to instead rework the center ares, changing the color of the areas to a darker grey

here are a couple of shots:

i think maybe this obsession is getting out of hand

Umm-

You're missing the urinal, the bar, and built-in smoker for doing the ribs.... I am disappointed!!!

Looks great!

lol - bathroom is just inside the door - corkscrews and bottle openers (plural) are right next to the tool chest - beer in the fridge - full bar just inside door just past bathroom

non-smoking garage

contemplating a 2" black border around the dark areas - would then apply another coat of the resin over the top

the lift is not far i think

Very nice -- I especially like the "period-correct" computer to go with your car. Is that a Centris or a Quadra?

Looks great Bob. Are you able to frame the original posters in a way that they won't be damaged by light?

not a lot of light coming in - no direct light ever - not worried anyway - by the time light damages them, i'll be dead and gone - on top of that, i have duplicates of some of them, and get more all the time - heck, i'm sticking some of them on the walls in the trailer

Very nice. Where do you find the time?

Is there anyway to hang that car rack? I'm thinking two mounted on the opposite sides at the front wall would anchor things nicely. Just a suggestion. Beautiful garage.

PS is every car in that rack a 968?

nowhere to hang it just yet - besides, there is a big black base on it - i also need a second one - if you look to the left, there is a stack of ones i have yet to put in a display case

yes, they are all 968s - i am pretty sure i now have every color of minichamps and ngz model out there, as well as a couple of odd ones

Im going to start referring to your garage as the Shrine. Thats the biggest 968 collection I've ever seen. Well organized too.

Thats what she said.

Sorry, couldn't resist..

As for garage size. Looking at the distance from the front of your 68 to the wall, it looks like your garage is deeper then standard. With the garage door just clearing the back of the 68 I only have about 6' prob less.

lol - that's why i made the joke first, before somebody else jumped on it

there is about 1' at the back, and roughly 6.5' at the front, so maybe a little deeper, but not much

thanks - it's constantly evolving - i really need a 6 car garage though - i may yet have to open a shop of sorts so as to be able to do what i want - this is exactly the dilemma i faced a long time ago, and exactly why i ended up opening a shop

i was so lucky - this was really entirely motivated by HER - she saw eric's garage in denver, and wanted something like that - ever since then, she has been totally behind the project
