Racecar build - progress pics
#1

Hi Guys,

Thought I'd share some more pics of my car build with you all. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

I'm well into the prep and priming of the interior stage now.

It's hard to get a balance between adding too much paint (read weight) and a good finish though! <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/dry.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

Zinc primed the cage first as well to help protect it long term. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/biggrin.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

Decided to leave the seam sealer in place as it will help protect the car longterm (I am also not seam welding due to class restrictions) and I doubt the extra weight will matter anyway, especially with me driving!

Once primed it's dash cutting time!

Need to get a move on though if I'm going to be ready for April.

Graham,

You're definately doing it the right way!

I gave up on mine, and put in light weight perlon(SP?) carpeting...I just couldn't get the glue out without dipping the car. And I already had so much in!

Congratulations on a great project coming together.

Keep posting these pictures, I'd love to keep up on the progress. I may do something like this far down the road, so your pictures give me some good insight.

It looks a lot better now.

I'll post new pics soon.

Jason, it is a massive job and i would not advise anybody to attempt it without a load of time and a very understanding wife!

To be fair if I had known what I know now I would have sold my car and bought a race car from the start.

but, it aint as much fun i suppose!

It's definately more expensive to build, ask me how I know <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/ohmy.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

Looking good Graham, I wish my interior looked as nice!
