Both really, heat gun to soften the sticky stuff and adhesive remover to get rid of the residue.
I then sanded and primed the surface for a two pack paint finish.
All in probably about 120 hours work including painting
But I am a perfectionist and not a profesional but a body shop quoted me £4k for the interior alone and now I understand why
I am a model maker and Industrial Designer by trade so it was not far removed from what I do everyday only a bit bigger
I had a friend who paints helicopters do the top coat though, he did a cracking job with hardly any runs (which I flatted and buffed out anyway) all in one go.
You have to keep a wet edge to get a good finish - I thought I would leave that to a proffesional
