Porsche wins 2016 Le Mans
#1

The 18th time that Porsche had an overall win.  Here is one article (among others):

On stat I found interesting.  Audi has been on the podium every year since 1999 -- a record.  That means they've won a 1st, 2nd or 3rd every year for 17 years straight.

Sadly, Saturday I looked for the race on TV, but couldn't find anything.  Sure, it was available on the Internet, but with DSL service being our only option, videos aren't typically watchable.

I have Comcast as my cable provider. The entire 24 hours was broadcast either on FS1 or FS2. I only get FS1 and FS1 decided to change the broadcast time for the final 6 hours to a different time and announced that fact at 12:30 AM. End result I didn't get to see the end of the race as it was preempted some F'ing golf match.

What I was able to watch was great. More like a sprint race at times than an endure. Toyota had the race won but a last lap power loss handed the victory to Porsche. The GT race between the Ford GT's and the Ferraris was a treat to watch. The Porsche GT3 RSRs had a tough time.

DS if you haven't been yet go to YouTube and enter 19Bozzy92. You will enjoy the videos he makes. i just listened to the one he made of the new Ford GT. Sadly, the thing sounds like a Honda v-tec with a fart can exhaust set-up. After you have done that search his site for a real GT-40, or Lola T-70 and if you really want get the hair on the back of your neck up search for the Porsche 917.

I had the pleasure of hearing the 917's sound in real-life. The sound goes right through you, even at low rpms. No video can capture that.
