I seem to remember that (way) back in my teenage years, when I still lived in New York, the White Plains Police Department experimented with VW Bugs powered by Porsche engines. Could I be remembering correctly?

911's were used as police cars in Germany and other European countries for many years. A friend owned one of the early 911's a few years back, and it was quite impressive looking.Still in use in better departments.

A supercharged 968 would make a nice police car. Quick enough for most chases with plenty of room for a few M4's, shotguns, body armor, and ammo in the back. Remove the roof panel and your partner can shoot at baddies from the roof.

Back in the '80's Belgium still got 2 police forces: the normal 'Politie' and the 'Rijkswacht' or gendarmerie, wich was attached to the army. These guys always had mustaches and you did not want to f*** around with them (no sense of humor whatsoever). They had red striping instead of blue.



Oh yeah, and they had 911 Targa's (so one's Golf GTI didn't stand a chance).
