Thanks to Pete at RSB for pointing me in the right direction for my fluid leak. While ordering the RSB stage 1 chip we got to talking and Pete provided lots of helpful information. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />



Quickly found the source of the power steering leak - a hose was improperly clamped when the recent Power steering resorver was installed by the last owners mechanic. The hose had a cut in it an inch or more down from the end.

Now I just need to replace the hose (the one with the rubber hose connected to a long metal tubing going underneath the wheel well. )



Can the rubber hose section be replaced by itself or does the entire assembly (rubber/metal) require replacement?

I brought that line with the PS fluid cooler attached to a hydraulic shop and had them replace just the rubber part. It cost me about $25. I have heard of other just cutting the rubber hose off replacing it with a new hose and hose clamp with good results.

If you go that route, just cut away the crimped band, underneath it should be a kind of flanged line that the rubber hose will fit over.

Thanks. Will do. Got the hose & clamps from autozone today. The autozone guy suggested I double clamp the hose at the flanged line end you are talking about. May have to wait till tomorrow as my son's HighSchool has homecoming activities tonight.
