Painted wheels to match body color
#1

Managed to get a shot this Saturday before the snow fell.

The wheels are 18" 993 turbo twist.

The color is POLAR SILVER.

If anyone else has matched their 968 body color to their wheels I'd like to see pics.

Looks Great... I'm guessing the stock silver is a lighter color{?}.

This color scheme is common on the CS and many of the GT2's & GT'3s

It's sure a lot less expensive than buying aftermarket wheels...

it's kinda cheating when you have a silver car <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/wink.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

Here is a nice combo from this site that started the ball rolling.

My stock color is the WURTH wheel silver. Polar Silver or silver are the closest, but is still takes just as many steps to paint wheels polar silver as it takes to paint them any other color.

I meant that more as silver is a somewhat normal color... much easier on the eyes to color match the wheels to a silver car.

Color matching to a red or yellow car is a little bit louder

I've been thinking of this for years. On an Amazon Green Coupe the dark centers and spokes only on 16's.

Nice rim detail. It makes the painted wheel look more like a styling element instead of a sale on body color paint.

I don't have a picture but I love the 16" wheels that had the color matched center only. That was one of my early draws to the 968 esthetics.

I saw them on a rare yellow ragtop at one of the Hershey GTG's and commented to the owner how much I liked them. He didn't like them, replaced them with some aftermarket 18's. I think the CS coupes in Blue or yellow with the painted inner wheels are the best looking 968's of all. Bummer that we can't have them here.
