Optic Armor Racing Windows
#1

My front window shield is pitted from age('93 90k) causing problems seeing in some light conditions. Do any of the folks here have any experience good or bad with this Optic Armor Racing Windows from racers edge?

Seems like a decent price compared to OEM glass!

There's a company claiming to be re-importing the OEM Sekurit windshields again, they state approx $460 each.

i saw that thread when it went up. i immediately made a phone call to check on it. sunset has always carried the OEM windshield, and never had a problem providing them. there has never been a shortage. i must assume that company was referring to aftermarket sources. the dealerships have not had the problem to which he refers. i think he was just trying to make a buck.

as for race windshields, i presume it is a polycarbonate unit. i would not use one on a street car. they scratch and pit very easily. this isn't a big deal when you use a peel off sheet, like on a race car, but for street use, it's impractical

well, i haven't used that particular one, but i have used other polycarbonate windshields. i don't know how hard any coating can be, as it can't be any harder than paint, and still see through it, and that isn't very hard.

by the way, they are almost the same cost as a glass unit.
