Snow Tires
#1

Just an update, I went to dedicated Continental Extreme Contact DWS for all year round driving.

Well lots of snow, one and a half feet in the last two days in the valley, and the Contis are getting me through it all.

Really good in the snow and ice.

My 2 cents.

And how are they in the dry and the wet? I don't need an uber tire, but I do need good sneakers soon, as mine are getting on in years.

Phil,

Good to know. Thanks for the info. Just mounted some Bridgestones for the winter. The Blizzak is not impressing me in cold, dry conditions. Sidewalls are very soft, so performance is not even close to my old Conti Winter Contact tires. When these wear out, in about 3-4 years, I'll probably try something else. Unless of course they rule in the snow. I'll post again when some snow hits and I play around a bit.

Good to know. I have never heard many good things about Conti tires. Our annual PCA event here on the island has always been sponsored by Pirelli but this year Conti has stepped up so at least I can go into the committee meeting feeling positive about their donation.

All round I find them very good. Softer than my Sumi HTZIIIs but they give a very nice feel. Sidewalls are softer, but they do the job, and I drive very aggressive. It took a little while after the Sumi's for me to feel at home with the Contis. I'd buy them again, and will.
