Welcome. Did did you get a PPI before hand? If not, I would suggest finding a reputable mechanic who knows front engine porsches to give it a good once over and create for you a short term and long term list. My first recommendation is to get a spare DME Cheap item and easily found, just keep it in your glove box. Also grab yourself a SS clutch hose from RS Barn. These items are not only known to fail but also to leave one stranded.

Thanks for the welcome,

got a spare DMU relay with the car, will prob's do the clutch hose soon. Its only done 2,000 miles in the hands of the last owner, has full dealer service history and just had 4 new tyre's and the cam and balance belts changed as part of the service so reckon it shouldn't need much doing to it.

Not sure how good Porsche dealers are on the older cars, so will probably get it worked on by the guys who worked on my old Audi RS2 and still do bits on my modded Audi S4.

just an observation and only my first opinion but the 968 doesn't have the punch and acceleration of the Audi's, but it is up against 4 wheel drive and is 70-80 bhp down on them.
so guess i'll need to modify my driving style a bit to get the most out of it.
