New Product
#21

Here is the update from customer.

"prior to the Cobalt pads I would have to start braking far too early and wait for the car to slow considerably before my leg strength could control brake performance. (i do not have brake boost/assist)

After the Cobalt pads the brake system felt much like I had boost/assist again. The bite from pads was instant and strong but easy to modulate with far less leg effort. They required much less pedal pressure and they never faded or changed in performance even if I held the pedal in the same place for an extended period . In other words they were very consistant and predictable and I could trust them to be there! "

On multiple track events over the last year and a half, that's been my experience as well. Great product.

My report is simple: These pads are unlike anything I have tried on track. On every front, they simply outperform. And not just marginally, their performance is amazing even when compared to the leading race pads I have used in the past (Hawk, Pagid, etc).

I am running 285s rear Hoosier R6, 255s in the front, and then assisting gravity with a massive race splitter and a serious wing on the back with a diffuser to boot. With the Cobalts and MO30 setup, I can pretty much outbreak anything on track. I am sure this has been a big component in the 3 track records so far this year. I dont have the hard data as I came off the gates with all sorts of new aero and tire size changes, but I assure you they are a big part of the performance gains complementing the rest of the upgrades...

Also 2 DE days and 4 races later, the pads still look great. I may actually be able to go the rest of the season (6 races) with the same set!!

Thank you Pete! You da man! And yes... i think we need to go XR1 on rear....

I've had mine on the car for some time now and they really are great! Pete, you'll probably hear from my Swedish mechanic regarding a batch purchase soon. He was also really impressed. Thanks again!

I just got my first issue of Grassroots Motorsports yesterday, in which they did a comparison test of racing pads. The Cobalts came in first, so it's more than subjective. Sounds like a great product.

I put on a set for Pocono and had to significantly adjust the brake points - way better grab - much deeper, no bedding required.

AWESOME PRODUCT!!!

Realize this is an older thread but here goes:

I am looking for new brake pads for my DE car (non M030).  The car is equipped with Moton Clubsports, M030 swaybars, Racers Edge spherical bearings & A arms, torsion bar delete 800/1000 lb springs. What's the consensus of folks who have used the Cobalt pads - XR2 on Fronts, XR3 on Rears...I'm using brand new Porsche OEM solid disks.  Any other brand pads to consider ?

I've been running the Cobalt's for two years on my street/track car, wouldn't have anything else.

Can get an update on how Cobalt pads are working out ?

I have brand new stock Porsche non M030 rotors and I'm ready to buy pads for an upcoming DE.

The car will only be used for DE and future club racing.

They work great. However I have been experiencing,as has another 968 track participant, small fissures developing very early on. No answer as to why. I change pads frequently to be safe. I will have to make a decision soon as they are much too expensive to use with this issue. I don't mess with break pads. Better safe than sorry!

I've seen these cracks too.  The edges get a little rough.  They still seem to stop the car really well.  Should I be worried?

The edges will start to crumble. I'm anal enough to have two sets of these as back up pads. I just got back from a long three day and have to check on the current set. They work well though. Do yours squeal ?
