I just want to say thanks to the creators/admins and the members of this forum. I just joined today and I've already learned a great deal about the 968 from this board.
Maybe I was a bit presumptious in calling myself 968bill before I had a 968 but I've got a line on one right now so hopefully in the next 10 days my ID won't be considered false advertising. By the way, since I'm member # 988 who got to be Lucky Member 968?? Did you already make a big deal over this?
If I do get this car I'll have a couple of major items I'll want to get advice on before a DE in March (new shocks/struts and new clutch) but for now I'll just search away.
Thanks again,
Bill W.

Thanks for the welcome guys!
Orphanowner, yes the PPI is scheduled by a shop that's on the Potomac Region's recommended list for tech inspections, Autobahn Services.
www.autobahnserviceinc.com And since the car has 100K and I'll be driving the car 600 mi. home (hopefully) I'm having them pull the cam cover and check the VarioCam pads, cam chain and teeth for any issues. If the car was closer I would do that work myself but I don't want the car to self distruct on the drive home.
The sellers have and extensive service history on the car too. They've been very accomidating on my request and even suggested getting the PPI before I got around to asking for it.
Hopefully the transaction will go well but even if it doesn't this forum is a great resource for me to continue my search.
Thanks again,
Bill W.
