So Jeff is selling his cab to get another one...what unique color do you think he's got his eye on <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/dry.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> ?

the Rubystone red, coral red, mint, teal, polar blue? (looks like horizon) - these are just the ones I've seen lately list for sale....

I vote Rubystone or Coral red...

ha, too funny!!! I can't tell how mad my wife is that I'm selling the amazon green car for this new "very obnoxious" colored car. She says she won't drive it. But Greg and I thought the color was too cool so it had to be ours. You know it is rare and bright so keep the votes coming. Lots of activity with the Amazon cab so an announcement could be made soon!!!

Raspberry - pink metallic

Rubystone red - Pink solid

Amaranth violet - Purple solid

I don't have a clue but if you find a low mileage maritime blue or a speed yellow cab I would gladly trade you my mint 25k mile guards red/black cab! My top three would be:

1. maritime blue

2. speed yellow

3. signal green

I'm almost certain that I saw a couple of these in the Gay Pride parade. (On TV of course, LOL)

That was me, Flash, dropping off PORSCHE's refrigerator girl for a Brazilian wax.

Bob, you know my fondness for loud exterior colors dates back to my first cars, Chrysler high performance muscle. My first car was a Dodge Challenger in Plum Crazy purple. I've also owned mopars in Go-mango orange, top banana yellow, sublime green, curious yellow, and hemi orange. I never did own one of the panther pink cars.

yes, but they had big V8s in them, made a LOT of noise, and rumbled very angily down the road with noteable authority - that more than makes up for the otherwise questionable color - please note they also had stripes and accents, as well as usually big scoops and such to "man them up" - there was never a question that it was a man's car - they oozed testosterone

the majority of people will say that, porsche or not, a 4 banger foreign car in one of those plastic looking solid colors just isn't manly (red, white and black are the unisex exceptions for most any car, and i've seen some nice looking 968s in those colors) - the only thing that prevents everybody from giggling on sight of one of the yellow or blue cars is kindness, and a lot more politically correct social skills than i have

on top of that, one of the things that sets porsche aside from other cars is the paint - being able to look into it and think it's an inch thick is sort of a trademark - the solids don't get that advantage - they also don't show off the lines of the car as well - they just tend to look ordinary and cheap

rare and collectable i suppose, but so are a lot of things that most people never liked, but became collectable just because of their oddity

eye of the beholder i guess

Bob, "everybody"???, now that's not very nice. You are already raining on my parade and you haven't even seen my car. There are many people out there, including myself, who like brightly colored cars. If I was going to purchase a new Boxster it would definately be one of those limited edition orange cars. The 968s are all great cars and I think they look good in all colors but I personally wanted something bright, unusual, and special. I got it. I hope you like it and feel free to be as politically correct as you like. Everybody has different tastes, that's what makes the world interesting. Jeff

Jeff - if, as you said, you "got it" as opposed to "are getting it", isn't it time that the rest of us know what you got? When I was looking for my car, the most exotic combination I looked at was a Florida car in superb condition that was some kind of pink with a white interior. The car was absolutely gorgeous - for someone else. As has been said, "eyes of the beholder".

lol - ok - there are a handful of people i can think of that wouldn't giggle, but about half of those get giggled at themselves by most everybody i know, so i don't count them

i don't even know what color this car is - it has nothing to do with you - i'm only saying out loud what most people won't because they have better manners than myself - i, however, clearly have no filters

however, there is a reason they don't make many cars with the odd colors - they don't sell well - it takes a special bird to want one - you get to decide for youself it is "short bus" special or not

maybe with some rally stripes or something.........definitely a black bra - something give it some zip and to keep it from looking like a miata or some other cheap jap import

Well that's me, a "special bird". As soon as I saw the car I knew I wanted it. I hope you find it at least "interesting", even if it is not your "cup of tea". Jeff

no worries - i find a lot of things "interesting", and i can even appreciate them, without them being my cup of tea - for example, i can truly appreciate a tricked out harley, though i would never own one
