Hello
Glad to join you as a new 968 enthusiast.
French I am, poor is my english. Please forgive any error or misunderstanding from me.
I am in the Porsche ecosystem since 10 years now.
I first owned a Cayenne 957 that I loved and so my family. The V8 of course that is a great and powerfull engine.
The car itself is .. a Porsche but also ... an SUV.
I sold it and three years ago, looking for a roadster, I finally purchased a Boxster 987 which is (was, I sold it recently) a great car.
In parrallel, I purchased a 911 997.2 Targa that I still own and love.
Then I wanted to enter in the classics.
I started looking at the 964 / 993, so last summer I purchased a 1972 convertible .. beetle, which the grand-grand mother of all Porsches and was my first car back in the 70's. Here is the logic, if there is any.
Still looking for a classic Porsche and disgusted by the prices of 964/993, I finally found a nice midnight 968 convertible in Montréal (Qc) that came to me by boat and road and now sleep in my basement.
This model had a lack of attention for at least a dozen of years, so I have started to fix approx. 968 little problems / subjects / missfits, which the reason why I purchased it.
So I start to discover that :
- it is a fun car
- it is a true Porsche
- it is a car that people like
- each time I fix one subject, I need to add a couple of other subjects on my list
No bad news so far, but the road is still long to make it as beautiful as it deserves. Keeping it classic !
Glad to share your experiences in the future.
