Thanks for the reminder midlman02. I had been to that site before but had kind of forgotten about them. Just browsing their site, I found a procedure explaining hatch delamination and what you can do to repair it that might be of interest to others. That info can be viewed here.

Thanks again,

mike

Most people would consider paying $ 4 for one cup of coffee absurd ( at Starbucks, Peet's , etc ) and yet millions buy one of those every day, without counting what it adds up to over time.. So a $ 56 investment for a holder to keep that $ 4 cup in who.e you're driving seems like a pretty damn reasonable investment to me , lol. Not to mention that you can also use it to hold your wine glass, and that could cost a lot more than $ 4 . Whaaat ?! Well, the point is : amortize tne costs my friend, amortize !!

Why do you want a cupholder. Couldn't you let it spill into your lap and sue McDonalds, Starbucks, etc for negligence for giving you hot coffee? You could make millions from not having a cup holder.

Not sure how someone can be confused as to what hot coffee could be, or should be cool. But you guys drink iced tea, which is a bit like the Poms drinking warm beer. Hard to figure.

Don't get me wrong, I can be all about frivolity, I mean, the entire care fits under that heading, but, I will stick to my rule that there shall be no fluids messing about inside the Porsche. The interior is just too clean for a 20 year old car.

I would rather put the cash towards something such as maintenance.

Does anyone have an updated link to the comment about the delaminating hatch? Looks like the link is broken now and I wouldn't mind checking it out since I have a feeling I'll need to do this repair sooner or later.

Yes, it is by Fischer, made in Germany. Available here (or on ebay):

ok, now I'm pissed that I paid that much for the same cupholder, and take back everything I said about amortizing the cost..amortizing $15 vs. $56 yields a far better result . of course I did not know this site was out there..or did not search enough..

But you don't get the screw-free bracket for $15. That's a whole other trip to Home Depot and another ~$1.50 out of your pocket!
