My 95 CAB has been crunched
#1

968 friends,

It has been a long year. I have had the pleasure of meeting many of you when my wife and I did Hershey a few times. I am sad to tell you that Marylynn Roe my co pilot of 40 years passed away in March. You would think that this challenge would be enough for a fella however since then I was diagnosed with a pretty severe skin cancer situation followed by a storm blowing a tree onto my house. Well the kicker was last week when another huge tree fell onto the garage and the 968. I am pretty sure it's totalled however a lot is in great shape. ie mechanically.

I am trying to find info on salvage companies who may be interested in the car for those parts. I need to tell the insurance folks so they know they will get the value out of the car. I appreciate any information you may be able to provide. It will help tremendously. I hope to find another 968, prefer a 95 CAB

Thank you all

Bill Roe

Hi Bill -

Terribly sorry to hear about your string of bad fortune, my condolences with the loss of Marylynn.

For salvage companies, go to the 968 links in the upper right hand corner of this page, and look under 'Dismantlers'. Also contact http://www.dcauto.com

Bill, sorry to hear of all your misfortune. three good auto salvage companies are: www.20car.com (Phoenix, AZ) www.partsheaven.com (Southern CA) and wwwloklahomaforeign.com (Oklahoma City) Good luck, Bob Blackwell.

Bill, I'm sorry to hear of your losses.

When my cab was totalled, I gave the insurance adjuster all my receipts, PCA certificate of authenticity, Excellence values, local ads and all the documentations I could possibly get my hands on. In the end, I received a valuation I thought was actually better than expected -- and purchased back the salvage for my own use. There are individuals out there who may be interested in the salvage (mostly DIY 944-types hanging out over on Rennlist. some of whom are in Ohio) -- if you end up with the salvage, you may consider letting it go as a private sale.

Good luck.

PS -- PartsHeaven is in Northern CA (rather than Southern CA).
