Has anyone posted a DIY about removing the oil pan?
#1

Had the pressure fluctuate and then drop on my car at the track yesterday. After consulting the 944 guys at the track and the rennlist folks we came up with the following possibilities:

1. The main crank pully bolt has worked it's way loose and needs to be retightned (155 lb/ft torque). I really hope this is the case. That is an easy fix, pull the starter, put in my flywheel lock and check the bolt.

2. The pads for the VarioCam has desinagrated and gone down into the oil plan clogging the return line and oil pickup.

3. The return line or pick up line have become cracked and need to be replaced.

4. The oil pump is shot.

Anybody had similar issues? Also, has anyone posted a DIY about oil pan removal?

Thanks in advance.

Having replaced 2 pick-up tubes....I would strongly consider replacing the cross-member with a Lindsey 3 piece as an upgrade and great time saving investment for the future. I did, and the second time was a "snap"....just like my first pick-up tube.
