Like I said, the oil pressure guage is not moving and sitting at 0. All the other guages work fine, oil level is fine and consistent. I am overseas right now and my dad is taking care of the car for me. I want to know if it could be something simple he can tackle like a fuse or something. I'm thinking if it's a fuse though, the rest of the gauges probably wouldn't work, right? I think I'm just going to have my mom sit in the car and watch while my dad wiggles the wire on the sender. What do you think?

There may be a way to check to the oil pressure sensor.

I am not sure but check clarks-garage.com for the DIY.

I would start with that.

DO not run the engine until oil pressure is verified.

I am assuming that your Dad ran the engine in order to determine that there was no oil pressure registering on the gauge! Since the 968 uses hydraulic lifters, the absence of oil pressure (or even low oil pressure) would result in extremely noisy clattering lifters that could not be overlooked. Trust me.....I know this from personal experience. My best guess is that the pressure sensor has failed. This is an inexpensive part and is easy to install. Suggest he do that and then restart the engine. Again, clattering lifters is the sign of low or no oil pressure. Good luck.

Clark's Garage, of course. It looks like it's not too much more work to just change the sender out while you're down there checking. The car was running, but there was oil pressure, the guage was just sitting at 0, it never moved, no jump, lifters quieted 2-4 seconds after startup.
