My 1st 968
#1

A very good day to all. Just a quick note to say hello. I've just bought my first Porsche; a RHD UK spec 'Sport' (MO30 suspension and less soundproofing, but with electric windows and back seats) model in Iris Blue with 130,000 miles. The car is in generally good shape but I like fettling so hope to gain and give technical advice on this forum. I live in the Amsterdam, Netherlands, and am currently working out what is needed to get the car approved for Dutch plates (on UK plates at moment).

Welcome,

There are a surprising number of Dutch owners on this forum, so hopefully you will have an opportunity to meet a few.

That's a pretty rare car in a very nice color. When you get a few more posts in, please post some pictures. (We make a few hurdles for new members to keep out spammers and junk, but once you're in, you're part of the family).

Regards,

Jay

Welcome to the site from a Canadian with Dutch parental background!

I will be in the Netherlands from March 17th - 24th (Ermerzand in Erm, Drenthe) with my wife and two daughters (13 & 17). If there is an opportunity, I would like to meet up with some Dutch members (and see their 968's). Being from North America, we do not look up against traveling for an hour or two to go somewhere (we have a rental car).

So if any Dutch members are interested, send me an email.

Welcome!

This Forum is a great resource for information from other members which can save you a lot of time answering questions you may have as you work on your 968.

Enjoy!

HI welcome! I'm a frequent (about once a year) visitor to Amsterdam and a fellow Desmond Dekker fan. It's a nice change from all that Johnny Jordaan.

My supercharged car is Iris Blue, great color. I'd like to find another cab in that color that is in better shape, this one needs a lot of body and interior work.

See you around,

-Joel.

Have dropped the car off at a Porsche specialist garage to have a service/heath check, get the fuel line done and to get the Dutch APK (a sort of statutory roadworthiness test) which I need before I can get NL plates, assuming it's done by the weekend of 18th & 19th, happy to have a run out to Ermerzand or elsewhere. Will let you know.
