$$$$$.
Depends on whether you are going to do much of the work or someone else.
Yourself, you would still need parts and machine work.
For 0 mile standard, your talking all gaskets, hoses, seals, rings, bearings,belts,springs,lifters,etc..+ misc items that you will discover and/or break once tryng to remove them. Machine work on cylinder head and crankshaft as well.
For a shop, substantial. Giving a 75.00+ an hour average rate+machine work+parts=$$$$$$$.Some place will give a total rate for the project. Others itemize everything and still others mix the both.
I was actually thinking of this myself if I plan on keeping the car as this is more of my side project fun toy and I am in no rush to get it done.
These are ESTIMATED prices for MY project after inspecting the engine:
Clutch since I am in there: $800.00
All gaskets top and bottom: $350-400
Crank machine work if nothing is wrong: $150-$200,
Bearings $350.00 including coatings
Rings/Wristpins: $175.00
Oil pickup since I am in there: $45.00 to strengthen
Crank scraper-$75.00
My variocam is good so no issues there but replace the pads anyhow:$50.00
Head machine incl valve job, guides, seals, etc.: $250.00+ for 3 angle depending on specs of parts on head such as springs, lifters, valves,etc...
All rollers for timing system are new already and still within spec so no issues there. Water pump is also new. New belts.
Balance shaft bearings: $40.00
All hoses: $200.00
Other things to look into: new knock sensors, idle stabilizer,etc... under the intake manifold that are difficult to reach once assembled.
Above is not everything but a good idea of what I will be going through. All work performed by me as I trust very few mechanics over me as I use to deal with hundreds of them at one time including factory certified techs and know what they are capable of and not. Who cares for your car more than you?
Above is just a guideline. Don't take it as gospel.
