Low Fuel Light Help Request
#1

I'm asking a favor here. Will someone please check if the low fuel light comes on when the ignition is in position 2, but the engine not running. This is kind of a test position for all (or most?) of the warning lights in the instrument cluster. My low fuel light is not lit, and I'd like to know if it's a burned out bulb or just that this bulb isn't tested. Thanks.

Nobody will go out into their garage, turn the key two clicks to the right and tell me if the low fuel light comes on? <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/whine.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

Thank you! Good information.

Let me expand this topic a little. Here's a picture of my instrument cluster with the key in position 2. I do not get the low fuel light, nor do I get the lights for Airbag or Washer Fluid. I checked all three of these bulbs, and they are ok. Is this the same for everyone?

Same here, Airbag comes on and goes off, no washer fluid or low fuel light. I have a 92, so that might have changed over time.

Hmm, I seem to match except I do not get the airbag light at all. And the bulb is good. Wonder what that means?

Lance, according to the wiring diagram ...

The following lamps are included in the Key On Test: Parking Brake, Seat Belt, Brake Pads, Brake Fluid (3), ABS, Oil Pres., Charge, Central Warning, Oil Level.

These lamps are not tested: Washer Fluid, Mal Function (at Control Unit) (2), Air Bag, Tip, Hi Beam, Turn Sig, Instrument Pan.(3), Fuel Lvl, Exhaust, Trailer Tow, Temp Indicator, and Side Marker (2).

The following also trigger the Central Warning Light: Park Brake, Temp, ABS, Oil Pres., Air Bag, Charge, Oil Level.

Interesting. Thanks for posting this. This says the air bag light is not tested. And mine does not come on. However, some other posters have said there's does come on for a second or two. From this list my cluster lights are working as they should.
