long time
#1

long time doodz how you all been? I have been away doing some fun musical projects and thought I'd check in.

Took a great drive up to canada this summer. . . sustained 115 mph on the way up through mount shasta area in the middle of the night. . . that was fun as hell!

Other than that. . . I was knocking around autotrader and saw a blue convertible with <20K miles for < $20K? man.

And I am thinking of buying another 968. Not for a little while. . . prolly wait for this whole economic thing to shake itself out, however long that takes. But I am thinking of a cabriolet - maybe wait around for a yellow one. Either that or an E46 M3 convertible. But even though the bimmeris newer and ~ 100hp up, I think more and more the 968 is better for a) looks and rarity. Plus it would simplify maintenance to have 2 of the same car.

Anyhow --- I hope you guys are all well!

Small chance I"m driving down to LA in a few weeks - if so I'll holler at you guys.

PEACE!

Sean the Ether Man.

I was just about to call and see if you were kidnapped or something .. good to see you 'live and kickin' .

Let me know when the band plays in the city again, must swing by to listen in, say hello, etc..

btw a 968 OR a Bimmer is a choice ? have you taken leave of your senses, man ? 100hp+ he says .. you can buy a Dodge or some Toyota nowadays with 100hp more than the 968, but would you drive one of those ?!

well an e46 is 10 years newer, and the BMW straight 6 is a pretty legendary engine. Also the 2 back seats in an e46, tiny as they are, are appealing.

And. . . there are a grip of them out there.

i dunno. . . I want to own a bimmer of some kind at some point. Just gotta own a roundel.

oh - and in other news - I think i have developed the pinion issue Whizzing tranny noise, very noticeable at 60+ mph, still minor at 30+.

But hey, I plan to keep the car forever, so no biggie. Just TLC.

It hasn't been that long, has it? I'm still in the dark foggy days of baby-parenting. Doesn't feel like much time has actually passed.....

Welcome back. Been missing your humor through the various posts. 115mph huh, that's moving at a pretty nice clip. Be safe and KIT.

Welcome back. Sounds like you had a fun summer.

Was out test driving (read beating the s*&% out of someone else's car) with my kid the other day, and he saw a red and white roundel. Looked pretty cool. I agree that the BMW is a good and credible machine with a different flavor altogether. Not directly comparible, but both good cars. And yes there are a lot of 3's out there. I imagine that SoCal must be the highest density sales area for BMW on the planet. The 3 is THE freeway daily driver around here.
