Caution view at your own risk (risk of changing what you thought you wanted out of a car). If you do risk it, I promise you will see some of the coolest photos in a thread I came across while doing my daily BMW E30 forum crawl. Glau

Its a wonder any of those are still on the road <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> Speaks highly of the engineers who designed and built them. I had one myself for a short period. Thing was solid as a tank (after I spent $2K on the suspension, that is). It was a lot of fun, but a slush box, and it really needed the manual.

Have an old E30 318is, in 13 years of ownership absolutely nothing has gone wrong, the biggest maintenance bill was changing brake discs and pads a couple of years ago..., even the aircon is still ice cold on the 18 year old car with no maintenance..

I also drive a 91 318i as a daily driver and am just about to pass 150k miles. I have had to replace the muffler (we salt our roads here) and new tie rods but other than that its been smooth sailing. I will be checking the lower oil pan soon for loose bolts which seems to be a common problem as the M42 ages.

I am a regular lurker at http://www.m42club.com check that forum out for great info on our 318s.
