It seems I'll need to change passions for atleast a year.
The automotive passion I have is just too expensive.
My new-to-me Audi was in the shop recently and I was starting to think upgrades.
$330 for wider tires, $200 for new window motor, $Unknown for new paint job, $300 for new sport brakes, $200 for new shocks.
Then there is the gas, SCCA membership, autocross fees (for 16 autox's), helmet, and (the killer) insurance fees for a major accident on record.
Yuck!
If I was working this wouldn't be a problem but I'm not and won't be for a while.
So I'm switching back my previous passion, computers.
For the price of a years worth of 968 maintaince and gas, I can build a computer equivalent to a LMP2 race car. If computers were cars.
I certainly won't leave cars or the 968 behind for good.
Once I get a job I'll start saving for another 968.
I probably won't hang around here too often but I'll try to attend any gatherings to try and stay social.
Happy and Safe motoring
