benspeeder - just realized that your car is a '92. I'm looking for replacements for a '94, which are different style. Thanks for checking, though.

Update on the car.

I've put about 1200 miles on the "new car" and so far have only done the air box mod and replace the AC&PS belts.
When I first bought car I was a bit disappointed with acceleration performance. The car handled amazingly well and on the hwy was ok and an even more enjoyable experience was diving the Tip "manually".

However this has changed. a lot. I run 2 tank fulls of Chevron gasoline w/ Techron and the Fuel additive/injector cleaner. And now, wow what a difference! It could have been just that it was being driven, as it had sat for sometime. I babied it for the first tank (300 miles) then really started to get into it more driving faster, accelerating harder, holding off on the brakes till last minute in the corners then pouring it back on again. The car in way more responsive and has developed a little more aggressive exhaust note. I can truely "blip" the trottle now and it is much more responsive.
Its still not were I want it or probably it should be but aleast its waking up a bit more and I'm having a blast.

Have the Timing Belt scheduled this week and brakes this weekend. Then the chip and exhaust from RSBarn at the end of the month. Somewhere I need to get wheels and tires done too.

Well today I tackled the big one. I replaced the water pump (factory original, 85k miles on it) and timing belts (45K miles on it). Learned a few things here as I had a couple of "special challenges". First thing I broke off one of the three bolts that hold the distributor cap. After that things went pretty smooth as I was doing this all under the watchful eye of a highly trained professional. When presented with the new (rebuilt) water pump I was given when car purchased, he rejected it due to potential problems with a plastic impellers. We instead opted for an in stock metal equipped version and were on our way again.

We I finished the job and prior to refilling the coolant my Brother suggested we test the pressure system. Nothing, wouldn't hold vacuum. So we inspected the hoses and all couplings and still nothing. It was shortly after that we inspected the seal around the water pump and found problem. Somehow the gasket failed, it was nowhere in line with the water pump and all work had to be undone and the pump removed! Gasket was a total loss. I had used the gasket thin/flimsy gasket that came supplied with the "cheaper" water pump, this time I used the newer/better gasket that was supplied with the better pump. I also opted for the 80* vs the 82* thermostat.
I then redid everything and installed the belts for the second time. Had to heat up the magnesium housing to remove broken bolt from dist. cap and replace with a new one.

I also replaced stock air filter with K&N (air box done) and all belts were replaced and hoses inspected.

All in all it was a great learning experience and took 6 hours. Having the "opportunity" to do the same job twice, well lessens in that too.

Next week, new rotors/pads/stainless brake lines, plugs/wires and chase down/fix the oil leak.
