Please pass on some details on the seats, I have access to Recaro, but would help to know what style and/or any other info that can help.
Also do I have to give up "power adjustments"? LOL

the seats are custom made recaro "sportline" seats - i tracked down the real deal porsche perforated cashmere leather and sent it to them - they then made the seats special for me

they are not power, though the "topline" is, and is otherwise identical - the penalty is quite a few pounds each though, and i hate power seats anyway - too hard to adjust repeatedly without memory - the entire reason for me was weight savings and adding the loops for the harnesses (you can't run harnesses without them)

i also had to fabricate adaptor rails to get the seats to the height i wanted - the rails that recaro provides are too tall

retail on the seats is about $4k for the pair

Wmuldowney - Hi - I might have the cover to the armrest consol - it was the underneath part that got damaged in the cage install - I'll look for it in my boxes and let ya know

Flash - I sold the door panels and door pulls - not sure what you mean on the trim rings - but the door panels got bought in a day for $250.

PS - don't go spraying a fire extenguisher in your car :-) Buy some dry ice if you want to freeze anything and watch your fingers - that stuff will give a nasty freeze burn.

That 2-tone color combo cabrio is really nice

no worries - i'll likely just order new ones - i am just thinking of the pull and the ring around it - black might look better on my doors

thanks - i wasn't sure i was going to like it, and was prepared to change it to all cashmere when i got the car - but once i saw it, i fell in love with it - much more practical, since my top is down constantly and cashmere carpet is nearly impossible to keep clean

then, when i got to lightening things up in the car, i had the seats made with black bolsters and cashmere leather - the all cashmere OEM seats with the black carpet just looked "off" to me - plus the light color bolsters really show wear easily - black is working out much better on the bolsters - i didn't want the seats all black though, as this is a cab

unfortunately for others these are one-off seats and likely cannot be repeated - it was a special deal with recaro - they don't do the cashmere at all - i had to make some very special arrangements for them to do a custom seat, and i even had to send them the leather

the sportline is readily available though in other colors

After throughly inspecting the rear hatch, I have discovered that it is not seated within frame and is way out of alignment. This is the cause of the hatch closure problem. There is a small gap where the top right "corner" of the glass has slipped out of the frame and at the bottom the left/right side the places where the frame all comes together is way out of alignment.

Obviously this needs to be fixed. Is it something that can be done or is it best left to a professional glass co? I am mechanically inclined but if it is not worth the trouble or time I have no problem leaving to proffessional.

Any thoughts?

Yep - have a shop do it. Funny, I was getting a 6 of Stella Artois this afternoon and saw our local glass shop across the street. Now I have the original 968 hatch and spoiler that had a tree branch fall and break the glass and a extra 944 hatch like yours which has the glass and frame seperating. I went across the street and asked these guys if they could put the 944 glass in the damaged 968 hatch - they said sure and bring it down.

I have a perfect 944 hatch on my street 968 now and will see if I can put together a proper 968 hatch and spoiler. If I can get that done I will sell the 944 hatch that is mint which is on the car now.

the sill covers are made by a guy named harvey - he does not have a store - he only sells on ebay - he says it has to do with the font and not wanting to cross the line with porsche

benspeeder - do you still have the rear seats? Specifically the back rests in black perforated leather (ie. little holes in leather)? Let me know, thanks, Derek
