KLA top mounts.???
#1

Hi Folks

Do any of you have the KLA top mounts [suspension] fitted to your car,s.??

If so what are your thoughts . Good , Bad , or indiferent.?????

Is the ride quality any different ? Harsher.? noisier.?Improved.?

Im looking at fitting a set to my 944S2 project, soon so any input will help.

i have contemplated these, and whenever my stock ones fail, i'll probably go that route - the ride may not be any harsher, but there will be more feedback from the road - this is the case whenever you replace a flexible bushing with a hard one - i imagine you will get a bit of impact noise, and a lot more high frequency low amplitude vibration from the suspension - that's the bad news - the good news is that the feel will make for a much more accurate translation of what is going on in the suspension - slop from rubber bushings is fine in a street car where you want comfort - in a race car it can mean missing an apex

since mine is a toy, and not a daily driver, this would probably be ok for me - i wouldn't do it in a commuter for sure if bumps and vibrations bug you

Dave,

I've only had positive results when replacing rubber with a bearing piece. The strut bearing creates a more positive turn in and steering response. The lack of rubber only lets the struts spring rate and damping be more effective. You're letting your struts react more accurately without the flex of the rubber bushing.

Pete

Note,

I sell both the Racers Edge and KLA strut bearings. The KLA is definitely a great choice for street vehicles as a replacement /upgrade at an affordable price.
