Key-lock cable removal

I'm busy taking the dashboard out of my '93 Cabriolet but I'm stuck because I don't know how to disconnect the key lock cable from the Tiptronic control lever. I'm scared to break the little plastic part at the end of the cable and cannot find the procedure in the workshop manual. Any advice would be appreciated :-)
