Jackspots rear end
#1

This is probably a no-brainer however, I don't want to make a mistake. i need to move my- god it's incredible, wish I woulda bought it years ago 968 to the back of my garage for storage for the crappy Iowa winter. Can I jack it up and move it on my 2 1/2 ton jack w/wheels and scrunch it into position? or do I need something more specialized? If so, where is the best point. i would guess it's somewhere at the rear end. Any info is greatly appreciated.

The 2 1/2 ton is plenty as the car is around 3200#. The jack points are just past the doors for the rear and just past the fenders on the front. There is no approved place to jack the 968 on the transaxle for the rear or the engine oil pan for the front. The only safe way to scrunch her into position is to use four wheel dollies.

here are some links that I found:

or, you could get auto socks and enjoy your 968 all year!

Autosocks! Who'd a thunk it? I hadn't heard of them but I like 'em.

I like the idea of the dolly. Nice and safe, no chance the jack will tip over and one person can move the car anywhere easy.

This one has its own lift system so no jack needed at all.

Harbor Freight also carries these, often on sale. I do wonder how these would work if you must pass over an expansion joint in the concrete.

If the wheels are larger and of quality it should have no issue with them.

I ran them last winter after seeing them at the SEMA show. The inventor used them to drive up a snow covered hill with the parking brake on in a front wheel 4 door. Got me to buy a set and I did not get stuck in the hills last winter.
