Just want to share something
#1

I realize that we all are in different stages, points, areas in each of our lives. But right now I have to say that despite what is going on in my world/life, I find myself happy with just being with my family. My family consists of my wife and our little one year old dog. I know it all sounds a little cheesy or even silly, but I am very thankful. Just wanted to share a happy thought with you all. Stuff I am learning more of while being unemployed.

PS: I'm not drunk nor have I taken anything...

I love a good sense of humor.

It goes to show how all the clutter this world throws at us proves to be a distraction from whats really important. I think its shameful how most measure success. Money is necessary but when not kept in check it quickly causes one to loose focus.

I survived a lay off shortly after 9/11 . Nice to hear that your at peace. In time you'll find another job and move forward.

can't find a thread where this would fit best, so I'll just post it here :

I don't need anger management. I need people to stop pissin' me off.

Old age is coming at a really bad time.

When I was a child I thought Nap Time was a punishment ... now, as a grown up, it just feels like a small vacation.

The biggest lie I tell myself is ... "I don't need to write that down, I'll remember it."

Heavens grant me the strength to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change things I can and the friends to post my bail when I finally snap.

I don't have grey hair. I have "wisdom highlights".

My people skills are just fine. It's my tolerance to idiots that needs working on.

If

god wanted me to touch my toes, he would've put them on my knees.

The kids text me "plz" which is shorter than please. I text back "no" which is shorter than "yes".

I'm going to retire and live off of my savings. Not sure what I'll do that second week.

When did it change from "We the people" to "screw the people"?

Even duct tape can't fix stupid ... but it can muffle the sound.

Why do I have to press one for English on the telephone when you're just gonna transfer me to someone I can't understand anyway?

Of course I talk to myself, sometimes I need expert advice.

Oops! Did I roll my eyes out loud?

At my age "Getting lucky" means walking into a room and remembering what I actually came in there for.

Wouldn't it be great if we could put ourselves in the dryer for ten minutes; come out wrinkle-free and three sizes smaller.

Last year I joined a support group for procrastinators. We haven't met yet.

Thanks for the reminder we're all human beings behind these little forum text boxes. Humor, family - including non-homo sapiens members of same, love - that's gas in the tank.

Totally off the previous topic but relevant as a "header".

from the Starbuck's Underground Coffee Shop Dictionary:

Cali  def: Slang for California, typically used in a context of contempt.  ex:Cali Smog, Cali Smoking Laws, Cali Censorship etc.

Also name of Hindu Goddess the Destroyer; typically spelt  with a k

lol - they failed to say that it is used almost exclusively by those not from here, but use in contempt pretty much covers that, because anybody who lives here knows it's better than any place else in the country, and the rest are just sour grapes

The Starbuck's dictionary definition was a gag, just curious how many people go there as its the kind of place you'd hear "Cali", apparently not many...   Tongue

(Sorry if anyone went looking for it, maybe you can call H.Q. and suggest it if you're interested.)
