injector/lifter noise
#1

Had my injectors cleaned , 3 where good 1 was 3%off (less fuel) and had a bad spray pattern ,

Now they are alle good and have the same numbers .

I was wondering if this could create a similair noise as a bad valve lifter at WARM startup . i did hear a light tapping noise (for a few seconds ) same as a bled down valve lifter . always during warm starup , and only after the car sat for a few minutes .

Oilpressure is always there instant and good pressure .

Is there a way to check valve lifters when they are out of the car ?

I have the camshafts out , to replace chains and pads , they where done 4 years ago (Pads) when i bought the car but i had doubts about the chain , so for piece of mind everything new . cams look good .

Pad's look good but there is some wear visible .

Also perfomed leakdown/ compression test , all came out good , so no worries there .

Just getting thru Flash his SC list , what a joy , have the heater on(-7C outside) radio playin , an a cup a coffee

Thanks

Lifter noise is very common, especially on cars that sit for long periods...I would suggest that's the first place to look.

They do a good job , and there will be a test raport with it .

I payed 58E , but only the 1 needed cleaning , if they all need work you will be around 150E max .(testing 10E ex btw cleaning another 20E ex btw)car

Any idea's about testing lifters ?

Thanks for the link, I was about to ask too. Mine were 'cleaned' recently, but in a bit unorthodox manner, I fear. (Throw 'em in a tub of cleaner, take em out). So I have no idea about their actual condition.

Injectors certainly can produce noise, but nowhere near as loud or heavy sounding as valve lifters I believe..

Getting you injectors checked and cleaned is worth the money , car runs stronger and idle is a lot smoother with little to no wandering .
