840 +/- 40 is the spec for the manual trans - that is where mine idles

880 +/- 40 is the spec for the tip

Flash, How can you raise the idle? You wrote it is an easy fix. This instead of the manual that said something else.

there is a screw on the throttle body - in stock form it is accessed from underneath

When I was adjusting, I noticed the throttle cable was really loose. I could almost slip if off the roller. I tightened it up just looser than taunt, is this right?

pretty much - you set it as tight as it will go WITHOUT causing the armature to move, which would consequently raise the idle

Sweet thats what I did.

Follow up. I set the idle to spec(in park). Well when put in gear, it drops tp ~800? I don't remember what it did before I set the park RPM. Is this about normal?

Yep, at idle in park the rpm is just over 900, but when I put it into gear it drops to ~800.

Thanks, my idle still runs a lot smoother while in drive and while coming to stops. I think adjusting the idle has made a big difference.

Sometimes, the car would stall while coming to a stop. The trottle response is a lot better since adjusing the throttle cable too.
