Newbie intro
#1

Hi,

I have a green and beige 968 with a manual tranny. I'm new to the car and would like to learn from you guys so I can make it perfect, like the day it rolled off the factory floor. I don't have much to say now, but I'm sure I'll have many questions in the future!

Regards,

S

MC,

Judging by your title, you were looking for a 951 before coming to the 968. I was in the same boat, but getting a car that is almost 10 years newer and a better transmission was too good to look past. You will probably then join the slippery slope of wanting more power all too soon.

Welcome, lots of great info, knowledgable people and fun conversations. Like all forums, you only get out what you put in. There are no silly questions.

Thanks guys for the quick welcome! Craig, I did previously own a 951 and still miss the car. I had to try out the 968 after hearing all the talk about it! There's so much info on this board it will take me days to go through the information, but I look forward to it.

Hello and a BIG Welcome to the Forum. An EX 951 Gent, if you did your own maintenance on the 951 you are way ahead on accomplishing the same on the 968. Changing a Clutch out on the 968 is a snap compared with the 951. If you had the Work Shop Manuals for the 944, and kept them, the 968 manuals go right back to them on numerous occasions.

Cheers,

Larry

Thanks Larry. I did learn a lot from the 951 and hope the 968 will be a comparable breeze. However, I hope to keep the car as stock as possible as we all know it's a slippery slope...
