How many owners before you?
#1

I think I'm the 6th owner of my '92. I was just curious what the "norm" is among the folks on this forum.

Pretty sure I'm the 4th owner. 2nd owner drove it out west from the NY state area to Manhattan Beach. I bought it locally from a guy in Orange County who only put around 3000 miles on it in the three years he owned it. He didn't take very good care of it - I've been bringing it back to life for the past year and a half

3rd owner. Original Vancouver Weissach Auto car traded-in to dealership and was leased to second "owner". I took over his lease and eventually bought the car at lease end.

Some of you have pretty detailed info (where, when transferred, mileage). Where does that come from? My only info comes from an Autotrader ad that the previous owner showed me from when he bought it.

BeBe - I got a stack of repair paperwork with the car and was able to trace back in time through the info on them.

Being the thrid owner my information came straight off the Michigan title I got with the car (I photo copied it before exchanging it for an Iowa one). I didn't get many receipts with my car, however the original Porsche service log and other materials in the car backed up the story of two prior owners both from the same family.

I'm third owner of my car. Third owner of my wife, too, now that I think about it,... <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/ninja.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

Tama, I am going to pass on that one. Seems either too easy or just plain trouble!

Sorry to not stay on point, I think I am the fourth owner.

2nd Owner here. I purchased the 968 in 2000 with 16K on the clock. It came from Maplewood MN. I wonder if the original owner ever thinks about this car.

I'm sure they still do. Seems like when someone parts with their 968 it is the result of some other life event or just not being able to drive it enough and they reluctantly part with it so someone else can get enjoyment from it. I know the guy I bought my car from didn't want to sell it. It is a friend of mine's father. He got Parkinson's and kept the car until he literally couldn't drive it anymore.

3rd owner of the current 968. It was originally sold here in Atlanta. 2nd owner also in Atlanta. 2nd owner traded the car to the new Porsche dealer for a Boxter. I picked it up from a friend of mine who is a dealer wholesaler for an obscenely low price. Best part is, the car came with an accordian file with every receipt since it was purchase new and there were a lot of them. I even have the original sticker and sales contract!

Third owner, but the second owner made it a garage queen and never drove it ( less than 50 miles ).

First was a doctor in Arizona.
