New to Porsche! I've had my 968 for about 3 years now but just found your forum. Haven't done much to improve it so far - just having fun driving it and performing routine maintenence. Looking forward to talking with you about things to do to upgrade. Thinking about an exhaust upgrade to make it sound as good as it looks. Would appreciate any ideas. learning curve.
Would have posted a picture but couldn't figure out how to do it - could use some help. A rookie when it comes to these types of forums.

Welcome! I purchased my 968 about 5 months ago and joined the forum about then as well. Do yourself a favor and thumb through the forum posts and folders when you have some time. There is a TON of good information that will give you some great ideas and also save you time and money. I have found that these people (I mean that in the nicest waySmile are pretty obsessed with 968s and know just about everything there is to know about them. If you have a question, I would put up money that someone here will have the answer.

Looking forward to some pics!

Welcome to the forum.

If you care more about looks & sound...i would recomend a B&B Tri-Flo cat-back exhaust. If you care more about performance, then go with RS Barn's cat-back system (its cheaper to boot).

But sound is all subjective, check out youtube and do a search for 968 exhaust. There is a video on there comparing the stock, B&B & RS Barn cat-backs.

Just to be clear...I do not believe that either B&B or RS Barn make claims that their cat back exhasut systems add any significant horsepower. Each system is lighter than stock (changing horsepower to weight ratio) and provides more free flowing exhaust that will change the acceleration feel, and, of course, the sound.

B&B has, in the past, experienced some QA/QC issues. If you do a search here, I'm sure you will find adequate information on both systems to make your own informed decision.

Best of luck with your new 968...we are a cultish, crazy, and happy clan.

Regards,

Jay

Welcome Chask...

Actually deleting the restrictive resonator does seem to increase power at higher rpm. I think there's a dyno chart somewhere that defines the increase.
I have the RSB system and have been happy with it...
