#21

Don't get frustrated...I say things all the time that people don't understand. Everyone wants to help you it is just most members here have a sarcastic streak.

Don't take it personal and good luck!

I was trying to say that you should not be able to have the car in gear, foot on the brakes, a d rev it to 3k. It should snap things if you tried.

If it is the flex damper, there should be a noticable backlash on and off throttle.

If it is the motor mounts, there should be a noticeable vibration.

If it is something simple like loose spark plugs, it should be a bit hard to start when cold.

The bottom line is that we need to more clearly define the symptom. You said misfire. A misfire is ignition related and usually sporadic. It also will not smooth out at higher rpms.

Thank you all for your very helpful feedbacks.

Flash, I noticed a lot of vibration going on when I put my car in D or R. Also, there is no backlash that I can notice on and off throttle.

Also, last night I started the car and let it idle and warm up. I noticed the engine was skaking slightly and not idling that smooth.

the first thing to do is check the easy stuff (plug torque, plug wires, rotor and cap, yada yada)

after that, i would be looking at motor mounts. prepare yourself though, as tip mounts are different than manual mounts, and they are a bit pricey. the aftermarket ones suck too.

It turned out the problem was bad spark plug wires causing misfiring! Put new set and spark plugs in, engine is running great, idling or driving.

Thanks for all the help.

Glad you found it.

It's so easy to suspect the big stuff and overlook the stuff that get normal wear and tear.
