What's an alternator cool air intake tube?
#1

I've had a power steering rack replacement procedure in my files for a few years - written for a 944S I think - and it makes reference to "loosening the clamps on the alternator cool air intake tube..."

Well I couldn't find one of those on the 968. Can someone confirm that it ain't supposed to be there? <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/cool.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

I've seen breather tubes (to efficiently bring in cold and evac the hot) on alternators for other cars before, but never on a 968. I actually don't recall one on my 83 944 either.

My '88 944 NA had one, but the 968 does not. Seems Porsche thought this was a good idea for a short period of time.
