My A/C compressor and fans starts running a few seconds after the car is turned on and will continue to run regardless of A/C Switch setting. The A/C Switch, lights and seeems to work as it should but has no effect on the compressor. The system does work and blows cold air.
To check the clutch I removed the A/C relay and that stopped the compressor. With the relay out I again checked the A/C Switch and found that it functions as normal turning on the A/c fans when switched on and lighting as it should. I had the relay checked and it works. I can only assume that power is getting to the relay continusly thus energizing the compressor but to tell the truth I have no idea on what is going on.
