Headlight replacement
#1

Saw a high mileage 1994 968 couple for sale on ebay (maybe a deal for someone looking for a project) at https://www.ebay.com/itm/1994-Porsche-96...SwEBJe6tn- but the item that I found most interesting was the apparent replacement of the entire headlight system - I'm guessing with the lights off a later 911?

See following pics from the listing :

Anyone heard of this being done before?

Given rarity of finding replacements for our headlights, I'm wondering if this may be a possible option "down the road" and if so, what "donor lights" are needed?

There have been many discussions surrounding the elimination of pop-up headlights. A few have tried with varying results, mostly related to projector fit and angle and fit into the quarter panels (transplanting 993 quarters is the route some have gone). Not a cheap or easy fix.

Personally, I like the pop-ups, but whatever floats your boat.

I saw one project close up, the fit was awful ( but it could have been just that one car and the type of headlights used .cant recall which ones )  and in addition to the ill-fitting factor the positioning of the lamps in the headlights just looked odd on this car ..in the daytime .   I imagine at night they’re probably acceptable since the lights hide all of the imperfections ..
