Best F1 drivers - not just for F1 fans

Stewards determined Vercrashin was at fault. 3 grid spot penalty in Sochi.

Luckily and most probably they will change his engine for next race, so grid penalty all the way back

Obviously the stewards dont agree that Lewis was at fault

Max is far to aggressive and not to worried about forcing anyone off the track

I think the 3 place grid penalty plus the points on his super license is from a totting up process, it would appear to me that max and red bull have acquired Ferraris get no penalty get out of jail free card, while the rest get heavy time and grid penalties

I don't think Hammy was too hard punished for his deeds at silverstone for knocking someone off the track with speeds far above 250km/hr and still getting victory.

I think those get out of jail cards are already for a longer period with mbz.

And not only for crashes.

They both have their issues,

They need to get a handle on it before someone really gets hurt out of stupidity

Exactly !!

p.s.  just from my observations,  Hamilton is the more ( consistently ) aggressive of the two, so I tend to give the other driver the benefit of the doubt on any given incident, but of course the stewards are ( almost always ) correct in their judgment.    Hamilton is arguably the best driver in a generation,  an extraordinary talent,  but sometimes pushing the reckless envelope IMO.   But is he the  replacement for  “ damn the torpedoes..I’ll torpedo anyone in my way  “  Grosjean  ?   Nah, he’s a bit more tempered ..   Wink

It's still racing, you can just not say ï was on the inside line the corner is mine".

If somebody try's another line he could be lucky to pass, all depending how hard/harsh the other defends.

But fact stay's, it takes two to tango.

They both want to win, and both don't want to give up doing so during the race.

I’m a huge fan of F1, have been since I was a child. While channel surfing today I stumbled upon the Monaco Formula E ePrix . Watched it for 5 minutes , which is all I could tolerate before having to vomit .. I realize this is subjective , but I am confident I have lot of brethren on this forum who share my sentiments on the topic..

I had a hard enough time adjusting to the smaller and smaller engines in the F1 racing history, but this is beyond absurd , cars which sound like sewing machines on the track . These cars , no matter how fast, withiut a fierce sound seem like radio controlled toys . I’m not alone though, half of the grand stands are empty, there’s no one around the track standing areas, balconies ( usually packed during the Grand Prix ) also with just a handful of people hanging around .. pathetic . IMHO

Agreed - Formula E kind of reminds me of the USFL, especially in terms of its viewership.  EV's have their place, but it's definitely not on the race track.

You guys are such luddites. Don’t you know EV’s are the future of the world? Or so we have been force fed!

I wonder how the effort, skill, and athletic tolerance of a moto GP racer compares to that of an F1 driver.  I suspect they're close, but I've never seen that comparison.

Don’t know , but I suspect it’s more dangerous ; you have no protection as a moto GP driver .  Fire is probably the only risk they don’t face

I asked Chat GPT, and it said that the skills required for the two sports are different, but overall, the physical and athletic challenges were comparable.  But then again, none of the 20 or so things Chat GPT told me about how to post something captured from a web page onto a forum worked, so maybe this AI stuff isn't all it's cracked up to be .
