I've noticed a groaning sound when applying the brakes. A bit like hydraulic pressure being built up.
It seems be coming from behind the dashboard. On the other side of the firewall, would that be where the brake master cylinder is located?
The car is braking fine, and the pedal feels normal. Brake fluid levels look normal, and the fluid was recently changed.
Any suggestions for things to check would be appreciated.

It sounds to me like a gremlin got his balls stuck in a brake caliper.
How long since your last brake fluid change? Some say to change it every year. Sure that's excessive, but running original 1992 fluid ain't a good idea.

I had the brake fluid changed less than a month ago.
I forgot to mention that the noise only occurs as I push the pedal. After my foot is firm on the pedal, the noise stops.
It sounds a bit like "KSSHH".
