How do you change the Headlight Lamps on a 95 968. I thought I had to take off the plastic sheilds but what then? I have the factory manual but all it talks about is adjusting the headlamp not replacing the bulbs. Any help would be appreciated. I bought the new PIAA Bulb # 10904 which puts out 125/135 watt amount of light but only draws 55/65 watts @ 4100 Kelvin a whiter type light.

Well I figured it out. First I opened the manual that came with the car. This is the owners manual not the factory manual. Then on page 92 it explained how to do it. It was a bit tricky as Porsche was refereeing to pictures with arrows on them, the trouble was there were 3 photos with arrows and nothing was labeled, Would have been nice if they refereed to figure 1,2,3. but oh well.
There were two tricks that I thought I would pass onto to all.
The first is inside the engine compartment just inside next to the headlights on each side is a kind of triangular shaped handle. You pull on the handle toward the center. This releases the headlamp so it can be tilted forward. This allows you to get to the bottom 2 screws that hold the shield covering the guts of the headlamp.
The 2nd is that you do not actually need to remove this shield but you need to remove the 3 screws that hold it onto the headlamp assembly. There are little washers on the screws, MAKE SURE NOT TO DROP THESE AS YOU TAKE OUT THOSE BOTTOM SCREWS. Keeps you from fishing inside of the lamp assembly for them. Once you have the 3 screws out just slide the shield forward kind of covering the glass lamp with the shield. This allows you to get to the springs that need to be released in order to remove the plug assembly from the prongs on the bulb. I used a small screw driver to pry this cover off as it was sticky.
The rest is straight forward in changing the bulbs.
