Front Lowering Springs
#1

I have been looking for a set of the front OEM Porsche 968CS standard springs but have had little success so I was about to use the

H & R 30mm lowering spring when I noticed Pelican Parts offer 1inch drop springs for the 968 part number PEL-PP905854.

Has any member of the Forum used these and if so feedback on how they perform would be appreciated.

My vehicle is only used as as a weekend cruiser these days ( 70+ driver).

Thanks you.

Ps Talk about gun control here in Australia there is serious consideration being given by some "expert' traffic bureaucrats to make the

70+ driverss display a sign on the car alerting other drivers of the threat we pose. Sweet!

And to think that that sort of warning was done without any form of coercion 20 years ago - everyone over 70 drove a Volvo or if you drove like you were over 70, you drove a Volvo. Cannot remember whether it was either or - or both.

How old are the shock absorbers in the car? Not sure how much the springs are - but why not go for a set of coil-overs. KW do multiple variations of comfort to track versions.

Forget actually training or making drivers competent - lets put "signs" on them - that will reduce the road toll. Got to love Governments and their hair brained schemes.

I used the 10 inch 225 lb springs from Paragon to lower my car and they worked out great. Jason the sales rep has a good handle on 968 suspension recommendations.

Caig,

You forgot the mandatory grey business Akubra hat which was dearly loved by the typical older Volvo Driver. That said, how many Mothers scared their children for life by making them drive a old Volvo as their first car.because "It`s safe, you know!."

Have just replaced original shocks with Bilstein so probably will stick with springs coupled with resetting the rear.

Dave,

Thank you for your advice I will definitely contact Jason.

the H&R Springs are progressive, so they work really well on street cars. H&R + Koni's is a much smoother set up then the factory M030 Springs & Struts/shocks.
